Turkish giants Besiktas have joined Arsenal in the race for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
That is according to TurkishFootball, who say the Istanbul side are ready to rival the Gunners for the Armenian's signature.
Mkhitaryan has struggled for football at Manchester United in recent months and was left out of the Red Devils' squad for Monday night's win over Stoke.
He could head to the Emirates as part of a deal that sees Alexis Sanchez move the other way, but the Gunners could now have some unexpected competition from Europe.
Giggs needed counselling after leaving United
Ryan Giggs has revealed he needed counselling to cope with the psychological impact of leaving Manchester United.
The Old Trafford legend spent 24 years at the club as a player and another two years coaching before leaving in July 2016 when Jose Mourinho took charge.
Giggs admits he feared he had become institutionalised at United when he departed.
He said: “I saw a psychologist when I left United because I had been straight from school into being an apprentice.
“It was the same thing every day, going into Manchester United with a structure, and that was no longer going to be the case.
Chelsea join Sanchez chase
Chelsea have joined the race for Alexis Sanchez after Manchester City finally called time on their pursuit of the Chilean.
The Blues' interest could push up the price of the former Barcelona forward higher than the £35million on the table from Manchester United, report the Manchester Evening News.
City, who would not go over their £20million bid, have left the door open to Sanchez – who had indicated he was desperate to join up with Pep Guardiola again.
But the feeling among the City hierarchy is that Sanchez, desperate to leave the Emirates, will opt for a deal which will make him the highest-paid player at Old Trafford – with reports suggesting he will bag £400,000 a week.
