Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has joined Burnley on loan after former Claret Kieran Trippier sold him on a move to Turf Moor.

Trippier advised Nkoudou to sign for Burnley for the rest of the season and the French Under-21 international hopes he can make an impact in the Premier League under Sean Dyche.

Nkoudou, 22, has yet to start a league game for Spurs and said: “Trippier told me good things about this club, about the players and everything about Burnley.

“I’m happy to be here, so thank you Trippier. I think it’s a big opportunity to play more minutes in the Premier League.”

N'Koudou represents the Clarets first foray into the transfer market this month, as they look to build on their impressive start to the season.

The Frenchman has only made one start for Spurs this season, in a Champions League dead rubber against APOEL Nicosia.

He scored in the match, which has his first goal since joining Tottenham.

N'Koudou's career has stalled significantly at Spurs, who he joined in the summer of 2016 for a reported transfer fee of £11million.

In the previous season with Marseille, N'Koudou was voted 30th in UEFA's Best Player in Europe poll.

Reports have suggested that N'Koudou has had offers from around Europe but has opted for a move to Burnley to help resurrect his Premier League career.

St-Etienne, Malaga, Fiorentina and Real Betis have all been mooted as potential destinations.
