Tottenham are hopeful of gazumping Chelsea in the transfer market once again - this time for Ross Barkley.

Spurs are intending on making their move for Barkley in January, according to the London Evening Standard.

Barkley snubbed a move to Stamford Bridge with just an hour of Deadline Day remaining despite arriving at their Cobham training ground for a medical.

The Everton midfielder is thought to have had second thoughts about the move.

Barkley could still move on when the window re-opens as he would have more time to consider his options - and Spurs are likely to be one of those available to him.
