Everton could make a January move for Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro.

France international Gameiro, 30, could be surplus to requirements in the next transfer window with Diego Costa arriving in Spain.

Atletico have struck a £67m deal with Chelsea for Costa but they are likely to have to balance the books with Gameiro also anxious about game time.

That could make him available and Everton have been sounded out about his potential availability from Atletico.

Gameiro was prolific for Atletico last season after his £35m move from Sevilla but they could be tempted to move him on.

Atletico could loan out Gameiro until the summer of 2018 or negotiate a permanent move worth around £20m.

Everton spent big in the summer but they did not land a striker having been turned down by Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud and they were also linked with a loan for Costa.
