Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale kept his cards close to his chest when asked about rumours linking him with Manchester United following Real Madrid's 2-1 UEFA Super Cup win over the Red Devils.
The Welshman started for the European champions in Skopje, following Jose Mourinho's comments that he would be interest in signing him , should he not be named in Zinedine Zidane's starting XI.
And following the match Bale gave Mourinho little encouragement – although he stopped short of giving a firm commitment to Real.
Asked about the speculation linking him to United, the Welshman said: “I’ve just been concentrating on my football. I’ve not been listening to anything and I don’t read anything.
“I’m enjoying my football and enjoying winning trophies.”
Asked if attitudes towards him within Madrid had changed, Bale said: “Not that I know. I’m just concentrating on getting back to full fitness after eight or nine months that have been a bit disrupted by injuries.
“I’m pleased to add to the collection of trophies. We controlled the game and deserved to win.”
Goals from Isco and Casemiro put Madrid 2-0 before Lukaku pulled one back for the Red Devils on his competitive debut for the club following his £75million summer move.
