Manchester City have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho - to keep him away from their Premier League rivals.

The 17-year-old starlet is now set for personal terms and a medical, before joining BVB.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham had all been keen on Sancho - player of the tournament at the Under-17 European Championships in May.

Tottenham pulled out of a move last week, and City had no interest in negotiating over compensation with either United or the Gunners.

Sancho turned down City's offer of a £30,000-a-week new contract due to fears about his chances of first team football at the Etihad.

He was subsequently left out of the club’s US tour and has since gone AWOL from training.

But Dortmund, who took the player on a tour of the club’s training facilities during the summer, are set to hand him a three-year deal after agreeing terms with City.

He will be handed the club’s No.7 shirt - vacated by Ousmane Dembele.

A move abroad needs to be ratified by the end of the German transfer deadline at 5pm.
