Jose Mourinho has reportedly dispatched Manchester United's scouts to watch Benfica starlet Andrija Zivkovic.

Officials from the Red Devils were at the Portuguese side's Champions League opener against CSKA Moscow, with the 21-year-old providing an assist in his side's 2-1 defeat.

Scouts from Old Trafford have been present at every one of Zivkovic's appearances this season, according to O Jogo .

The Serb claimed three assists last season as he broke into the first team.

United face Benfica twice in a Champions League double header next month.

Jose Mourinho insists Manchester United can cope with the enforced loss of £89million midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba is out for at least four weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in United's 3-0 Champions League win over Basel.

But Mourinho said United will not be “crying or making excuses” over Pogba's absence – despite his importance to them.

“We lost important players last season at crucial moments and we were not crying or making excuses,” said Mourinho.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says Luke Shaw is finally fit again - but his return to the first team could depend on his form in the reserves.

The England left-back has started the last three matches against Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal for United's second string and is in line to feature again in Monday night's trip to Chelsea, report the Manchester Evening News .

Shaw has not played for the Red Devils' first-team since he obtained a foot injury against Swansea in April and is now training with his senior teammates after turning out for the reserves.
