Jurgen Klopp held a lengthy inquest into Sunday's disappointing defeat at Wembley , writes Liverpool Echo's James Pierce.

The Reds were beat 4-1 by Tottenham and are now ninth in the table — already 12 points adrift of leaders Manchester City after just nine games.

Klopp's players reported back for a recovery session on Monday before a team meeting was held, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Captain Jordan Henderson and his team-mates had to relive a shambolic defensive display as Klopp went through the video analysis with them. Each of Spurs’ goals were examined in detail.

It is understood to have been an open and honest exchange with players contributing to the conversation and holding their hands up to the basic errors which proved so costly.

The Liverpool striker was signed from Chelsea at the age of 15 and made his Liverpool U23 in January.
