Liverpool are prepared to smash their transfer record to land both Thomas Lemar and Virgil van Dijk.

But the Reds are running out of time to land their two remaining targets.

Liverpool are still trying to persuade Monaco to sell Lemar, having had a £57.4million bid rejected, and are willing to pay £70million for the France star.

Lemar, who scored 14 goals and made 17 assists last season for the Ligue 1 champions, is understood to be keen on a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are fast running out of time and Lemar is with Didier Deschamps’ France squad preparing for tonight's World Cup qualifier against Holland at the Stade de France.

Liverpool, who are completing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s £40million switch from Arsenal, are also on standby, waiting for the nod from Southampton to begin talks over van Dijk.

The Reds have had to tread very carefully since officially ending their interest in the Dutch centre-half in June, but would jump at the chance to make him the world’s most-expensive defender at over £70million.

They will only act if encouraged by Southampton and Saints are adamant van Dijk is not for sale, despite him wanting to leave.

The odds on these deals happening are lengthening with each passing hour and Liverpool are more likely to be involved in outgoing transfers.

Wolfsburg are prepared to pay a £6million loan fee to sign Divock Origi for the rest of the season and cover his wages.

Liverpool are also keen to move to misfits Lazar Markovic and Mamadou Sakho.
