Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool striker Danny Ings in January.

Ings has been beset by injuries since joining the Reds in 2015, suffering a number of knee problems and has only turned out once for Jurgen Klopp's side this season.

The Shields Gazette report that the Magpies are interested in snapping up the 25-year-old

This comes after the England striker insisted he wanted to remain at Anfield.

"Everywhere I have been, I have always found a way to make it happen," he told The Times. "I have been in a lot of tough situations at previous clubs where it's been hard to break in.

Barcelona will make a fresh bid for Philippe Coutinho in January.

Liverpool rejected multiple bids from Barca for the Brazilian playmaker in the summer transfer window, with the Catalan giants upping their offer to £118million.

But CEO Oscar Grau said on Wednesday: "We are ready to sign Coutinho — or any other player the technical staff request in the winter window."

Barcelona's predicted revenue of £805m for this season – up £170m on last year — will enable them to go back and test Liverpool's resolve once again.

But staying true to the country's form, the Three Lions were pegged back by two second half goals and were hanging on a bit before the referee blew the final whistle.
