Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing 17-year-old Mexican forward Diego Lainez.

Lainez, who plays for Liga MX side America, played for his country in the recent Under-17 World Cup.

ESPN Deportes report that Liverpool sent scouts to watch the teenager and were impressed with his performances.

Rhian Brewster 's goal helped England to glory in the U17 World Cup in Kolkata, and ensured the 17-year-old finished as the tournament's leading goalscorer.

No mean feat, given the quality of opposition - Brewster now follows in the footsteps of Cesc Fabregas, Carlos Vela and former Red Florent Sinama-Pongolle by scooping the Golden Boot.

Daniel Sturridge has found out his FIFA 18 pace rating - and he's not happy.

In an interview with FATV, alongside former Liverpool team-mate Raheem Sterling, the 28-year-old reacted to his low stat by 'storming off set'.

Footballers in the past have been precious about their ratings - Dele Alli was less than pleased with his overall and Phil Jones was left mystified by his main stat.

But Sturridge appears most offended of all by his particularly low pace stat. In FIFA 17, the England striker's pace was an impressive 89. In this year's edition, however, Sturridge's stat has fallen to 76.

Initially, the former Chelsea and Manchester City forward thinks his pace is 79, before hearing it's actually three points lower.

"79? Don't disrespect my pace like that bro," said Sturridge. "76?!"
