Liverpool have received a boost in their bid to sign PSG winger Lucas Moura, with the Ligue 1 side willing to sell the flier for £26million.

That is according to French outlet Le Parisien, who say PSG are prepared to cut their losses on the Brazilian having forked out £35million to land him from Sao Paulo four years ago.

It was reported the Reds made contact with PSG over a potential move for Moura last month with Manchester United also understood to be interested.

Moura scored 19 times last season, laying on 11 more goals for his teammates in 53 appearances in all competitions.

But the Premier League are understood not to be considering further action over the matter unless new information is provided.

Liverpool have made their move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain .

Anfield chiefs' direct enquiry to Arsenal represents the first step in trying to pull off a remarkable transfer coup for the £25million-rated England international.

And although the Gunners rebuffed that first approach, they could be ready to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain as his contract talks have ground to a frustrating halt.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a known long-time admirer , and wants the 23-year-old in his squad. Manchester City and Chelsea are also watching developments closely, but the Reds are trying to steal a march on their Premier League rivals.
