Manchester United are reportedly set to bid for for Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante as a replacement for Marouane Fellaini.

The Beglian midfielder is set to leave Old Trafford this summer after turning down the club's latest contract offer.

And the Sun report that Cristante has been lined up to fill the gap left by the former Everton man, with United ready to bid £31million for the 22-year-old who is currently on loan at the Serie A side from Benfica.

Atalanta have an option to sign him permanently for £10million in the summer and could do that with the intent of immediately selling him on for a profit.

Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan have all been linked with the Italian, but are said to be baulking at the £31million asking price that Atalanta will set.

Jose Mourinho is demanding £20m for out-of-favour left-back Luke Shaw .

Newcastle have been priced out of a permanent deal, but can only offer a loan.

A host of other clubs are interested in taking the England man on loan in January.

A chance to play regularly would be attractive to Shaw who is behind Ashley Young in the left wing back position.

Shaw, 22, has become one of Manchester United’s fittest players despite his lack of game time.

Nemanja Matic is facing a battle to be fit for Manchester United's showdown with Arsenal.

The midfielder, who has started every Premier League game so far this season, is in danger of seeing that run come to an end with Saturday evening's clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Matic came off with a muscular injury nine minutes into the second half of Tuesday's 4-2 win at Watford, and is unlikely to recover in time.

Boss Jose Mourinho feared the worst when the 29-year-old Serbia international, a £35million summer signing from Chelsea, signalled he could no longer carry on at Vicarage Road.
