Manchester United are hoping to pip Chelsea and Barcelona to Brazilian wonderkid Arthur Melo.

The 21-year-old has earned a call-up to the national side after some impressive performances for Gremio.

Barca and Chelsea are keen, as are Atletico Madrid, but United are looking to pounce.

The Mail reports the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the situation and believe they can lure Melo to Old Trafford.

He's been likened to Andres Iniesta, too.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that he has no intention to come out of international retirement if Sweden reach the World Cup finals.

The Manchester United striker announced last year that he was calling time on his international commitments in order to focus on prolonging his club career.

Sweden take on Italy over two legs this week for a place in the World Cup finals in Russia next summer.

But Ibrahimovic insists that he will not be tempted to come out of retirement if the Scandinavians upset the odds and get past the four-time world champions.

“I am not thinking about Sweden or the World Cup,” he told Sky Sports Italy . “I am just thinking about returning to full fitness as soon as possible.

“My story with the national team is finished. Maybe I could have done more, maybe I could have done less but my time [with them] has come to an end.

“Either way it would be beautiful if Sweden reached the World Cup.”

Manchester United will have to compete with Chelsea for the services of one of the Serie A's brightest stars.

Both clubs are watching 21-year-old Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to Tutto Mercato.

The publication say Pellegrini is a key player in Eusebio Di Francesco’s fifth-placed side in the Italian top flight.

A low release clause of €25m (£22.1m) has made the youngster ripe for the picking from Europe's top clubs.
