Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has reportedly told the club he wants to leave this month.

Romero was signed as back-up to David De Gea and played in United's run to the Europa League final last term.

But his opportunities have been few and far between this season and is eyeing a move.

The Independent reports Romero fears for his place at next summer's World Cup due to his lack of playing time.

Chelsea are ready to push through a £50m January deal for Juventus full back Alex Sandro.

Antonio Conte has prioritised bringing in the 26-year-old who Chelsea tried to get last summer but they have gone back in hard for the Brazilian.

Chelsea know they face competition from Manchester United and have made their move to try and get him ahead of Jose Mourinho.

Juventus are ready to do business on Sandro despite having fought to keep him in August and the Italian giants are looking at replacements with Bayer Leverkusen’s Brazilian Wendell on their hit-list.

Chelsea boss Conte is determined to be busy as he looks to bolster the club’s squad for the Premier League but also mounting fixtures in the domestic cups and Champions League.
