Manchester United have reportedly joined the race for Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

The France midfielder was heavily linked with Arsenal and Liverpool in the summer but failed to get a deal over the line.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also keen on the €100m-rated player (£88m), but now the Daily Star claim United have entered the transfer scramble.

Ligue 1 winners Monaco sold €357m worth of players last summer including Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Kylian Mbappe.

But the Monte Carlo-based club refused the late offers for Lemar.

And despite being knocked out of the Champions League, vice-president Vadim Vasilyev said Lemar and Fabinho will not be sold next month with Monaco second in the French league.

“The sales of important players is not on the agenda. We have never spoken (to Lemar or his entourage) about the possibility of a January departure."

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has claimed Philippe Coutinho would be a “great signing” for the Spanish giants.

It is another outrageous piece of “tapping up” by Barcelona who have resorted to their usual tactic of flattery to try and bring in a new signing.

Barcelona have made the Liverpool star their No1 transfer target next year despite the Anfield club turning down mega bids in the summer.

Barcelona star Iniesta, 33, told a Spanish newspaper: “Coutinho is a great team player with lots and lots of talent, he would be fantastic for us.

“He is equally adept with both feet, he links up well with other players, scores goal and gets between different phases and lines in attack, he would be what we want.

“His qualities fit into how we play and what we want and if the signing is finally complete, it would be great.”

Liverpool held by Arsenal in thriller

Roberto Firmino earned Liverpool a point to keep them fourth after Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp's men went goal crazy again at the Emirates.

The top-four rivals shared the spoils after a roller-coaster six-goal thrillier, one short of the seven they managed last year in Liverpool's 4-3 win.

Philippe Coutinho first-half strike and Mohamed Salah's deflected 52n minute effort put Liverpool in command at the Emirates.

But Arsenal hit back a minute late through Alexis Sanchez and follow-up goals from Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil turned the match on its head in a mad-cap three goal in five minutes spell.

But Firmino had the final say when he squeezed a 71 minute equaliser past Petr Cech.

Here's five talking points from the game.
