Spanish youth international Arnau Puigmal has confirmed he has joined Manchester United from Espanyol.

The 16-year-old penned terms with the Red Devils in July but has only just rubber-stamped the switch due to international clearance, report the Manchester Evening News.

Although the club have yet to confirm Puigmal's arrival, the teenager confirmed his arrival with an Instagram post of him signing his contract with Under-18s coach Kieran McKenna and United great Andy Cole, which was taken in early July.

Puigmal wrote: "Very happy and proud to announce that I am a new Manchester United player, a dream come true. It's time to work, come on Red Devils!"

Puigmal was named most valuable player at the Mediterranean International Cup - a competition Lionel Messi and Cesc Fabregas starred in - and plays in midfield. The Spain Under-18 international scored for the U18s in a 6-0 friendly win over SV Ebensee in Austria two months ago.

United also signed Aliou Traore from Paris Saint-Germain and Di'Shon Bernard from Chelsea this summer, as well as Puigmal, as their academy recruitment drive escalated under Nicky Butt.
