Marcos Rojo could be set for a new deal at Manchester United.

The Argentine has won over Jose Mourinho after a shaky start to life at Old Trafford.

Rojo is currently tied down for another two seasons but United are ready to extend his contract.

United will give the defender another year on his current £100,000-a-week wages, reports the Sun.

The defender has linked up with the Argentina squad this week.

Antoine Griezmann has confirmed he will not be leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United as Jose Mourinho prepares to splash the cash again.

But the forward has played down the chances of moving away from the Spanish capital.

"I have no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid, for Paris Saint-Germain, China, the USA, Russia, or elsewhere," he told L'Equipe.

"Right now I don't see myself at Barcelona or Real, or anywhere else. I'm happy in Spain."

Mourinho on spending power

Jose Mourinho has claimed Manchester United no longer dominate English football because they cannot now buy the best players from other Premier League clubs, writes Neil McLeman.

Top flight clubs banked £1.6bn from TV and prize money with even bottom club Aston Villa getting £66m. That money is set to be doubled when new TV deals kick in next season.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson won the title in his final season in 2012/13, the Reds have twice failed to finish in the top four.

Mourinho told France Football: “I arrived at Manchester United at a difficult time. But it was the same for David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal. The period which followed the departure of Sir Alex was difficult to manage for the club, and not only because of his departure.

“It is also a new era for English football. A period where economic power has become so big that it is becoming scary for everyone. Because this economic power is not concentrated in two clubs, like in Spain, or on only one, like Germany."
