Jose Mourinho has finally lost patience with Anthony Martial.

The United boss held showdown talks with Martial in a bid to get his form back on track.

He was urged to make the wide left role his own ahead of Marcus Rashford.

But Mourinho was left frustrated by the Frenchman's response and subsequently left him on the bench in United's last two matches.

According to the Sun, Martial's long-term future at Old Trafford is now in serious doubt.

Jose Mourinho is confident Real Madrid will not embark on another 'dirty tricks' campaign to sign David De Gea, writes David McDonnell in the Mirror.

Bernabeu president Florentino Perez claimed someone at Manchester United is “messing around” with keeper De Gea, with his European champions poised to make a fresh move after failing to land the player 18 months ago.

“With Mr Perez and his right arm, Jose Angel Sanchez, they are some of the people in football that I can say I didn't work for them and then it's over,” said Mourinho. “I can say that we're friends forever, big friends, I like them a lot. Friends speak, friends are open, friends are honest.

“So if, at the end of the season, I want one of their players or they want one of our players, we will not do it through the Press to exchange messages. We will be very direct. So they are one of the clubs I'm not worried about at all.

“I have nothing to say, because I'm not going to speak about hypothetical things."

Juan Mata admits he would love to return to Spain before the end of his career, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The playmaker was widely expected to leave United in the summer but has become a key player under Jose Mourinho.

Mata hopes to add a Premier League winner's medal before leaving for his homeland.

"I've been asked before, and I don't know. I've been here six years, and I am happy in England.

"But I love Spain still and always follow La Liga from here. I would like to play again back at home."

Manchester United 's Marouane Fellaini has reinvented himself in the eyes of their fans this season, writes John Cross in the Mirror.

Midfielder Fellaini was criticised after conceding a late penalty at Everton and was even booed by United fans at Old Trafford. But within the space of a few weeks, Fellaini has got the supporters back onside after proving himself an invaluable part of the Jose Mourinho ’s squad.

Now, the Belgian has revealed his connection with Mourinho was first formed when the Special One called him immediately after taking charge last summer.

Fellaini said: “I’ve always had good relationships with managers. But with Jose I have a great relationship. I respect him, he gives me confidence.

"He called me and texted me on my holiday to give me confidence and say he trusts me. When a manager calls you and says you are part of his plans and that he trusts you, then you will give everything for him.”
