Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez wants to bring Arsenal’s England full-back Kieran Gibbs to St. James’ Park.

The 27-year-old only figured in 10 Premier League games for the Gunners last season after losing his place to Nacho Monreal.

Benitez believes the left-back would bring valuable experience to his side as they step back into the Premier League.

It’s understood Arsenal would be prepared to sell at around £15 million and Benitez is keen to do a deal.

He has become frustrated at the lack of incoming transfers after winning promotion and is anxious to step up Newcastle’s lack of activity.

He is anxious to complete a loan deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham who scored 26 goals for Bristol City while on loan at Ashton Gate last season.

There is also interest in Burnley striker Andre Gray who was the subject of a failed £15 million bid from West Ham in January.

Benitez is pushing for the club to complete a deal for Sporting Lisbon’s £17 million rated central defender Ruben Samedo and Hull’s Polish winger Kamil Grosicki.
