Barcelona will not move for Arsenal's Mesut Ozil as a possible alternative to Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

Alejandro Moreno told ESPN that the Catalan giants, who were reportedly considering a move for the German, have been desperate to replace Neymar.

But despite Ozil fitting the bill, Moreno doesn't think he is truly on their radar as he won't "add a whole lot of value to Barcelona".

Moreno said: "Is Mesut Ozil staying at Arsenal? I think he still is. I don't think at this point in his career that Mesut Ozil will add a whole lot of value to Barcelona.

"If I feel that way about Mesut Ozil, I feel that way about Riyad Mahrez.

"The desperation of Barcelona may just change this the other way, it may just say 'you know what, we need to get something, anybody, anything.'"

Wenger admits it was Lemar's choice to snub Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Thomas Lemar snubbed Arsenal on Deadline Day.

The Gunners had a £90million bid accepted by Monaco in the dying hours of the transfer window but failed to get a deal over the line.

Lemar's arrival would have allowed Alexis Sanchez to complete his transfer to Manchester City.
