Philippe Coutinho is on his way to Barcelona, according to reports.

Liverpool has agreed a fee that could rise to €160million (£148m) with the Catalan club that has been doggedly pursuing him this summer transfer window.

That's the claim of Yahoo Sports who say the deal, which includes performance-based add-ons, was established even before Coutinho left England for international duty in Brazil.

Coutinho hasn't appeared for his club this Premier League season due to a back injury but has been declared fit by Brazil and is expected to play against Ecuador.

Liverpool chief responds to Twitter abuse about Coutinho as star trains with Brazil

As Philippe Coutinho continued his recovery from injury with Brazil, Liverpool CEO Peter Moore was moved to respond to abuse on Twitter about his potential sale.

Time is getting away from Barcelona if they are to succeed in getting their number one target after a sage that has been a mainstay of the transfer window.

Coutinho's back injury has prevented him from playing a single match this season but he was again playing a full role in training on Tuesday with the national team.

And he's set to take part when Brazil play Ecuador in 2018 World Cup qualifying in the early hours of Friday morning.

With the star forward appearing the relish his return to action with his national team, Moore has been drawn to respond to online criticism of the Reds' owners.

Moore, whose remit does not include a hands-on role with transfer business, took to Twitter to respond to one supporter worried over a potential sale of the Brazilian, as the Liverpool Echo reports.
