Arsenal's Jack Wilshere could find refuse in La Liga, according to reports.

Despite a return to fitness the England star is struggling for game time under Arsene Wenger.

But he's not short of fans.

Spanish side Real Betis has been linked with the 25-year and The Sun claim they are confident they can convince him to join them when his contract runs down at the end of the season.

Wenger is said to want to lock Wilshere into a new deal in January but Betis have made contact with his management in a bid to get the ball rolling for a free transfer in the summer.

Arsene Wenger denies his position is up for review this summer - but admits he will sit down with the board

Arsene Wenger has denied his job at Arsenal is up for review at the end of the season — but has admitted he will sit down with the board in June.

The decision to hand the Frenchman, 68, a two-year contract at the end of last season was not well received by fans while some board members also objected.

Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis promised the summer would be a "catalyst for change", but little seems to have changed as we approach the new year.

Speaking at Arsenal's AGM last month, Wenger said he would sit down with the board to discuss his performance, and many interpreted this as there being a possibility he could leave.

Wenger says, however, that is not the case.

"I said I sit down with the board at every end of season and see where we will go from there, so that's not exactly the same," Wenger told beIN Sports.

"Sometimes as well, you make a sentence and people turn it the way they would like to go.

"I have a two-year contract, I will always try to go to the end of my contract, but will always have the honesty to sit down with the board and to see where we go from there. That's quite simple."

Arsenal stars today aren't pinned to wall and told we MUST beat Spurs like I was, says Lee Dixon

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has questioned the current squad’s desire, and insisted they do not care as much about the north London derby as the players of the past.

Dixon has revealed how, when he first arrived at the Gunners from Stoke in 1988, he was pinned up against the wall in the dressing room by his team-mates, and told about the importance of beating Tottenham.

Arsenal face their bitter rivals on Saturday with the balance of power shifting in north London.

Dixon praised Spurs’ “hunger and desire” under Mauricio Pochettino, while fearing it has disappeared under Arsene Wenger.

The former Arsenal defender, who won two Premier League titles with Wenger, recalls the days of Tony Adams, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry, when it was made clear how much the derby meant to all the players.

Now, Dixon says, that passion has gone and he clearly worries about the direction of the current Arsenal team.

He said: “Do they still have them up against the wall? I don’t think that happens any more.
