Marco Asensio reportedly wants to quit Real Madrid for Manchester United.

The Spaniard started the season in superb form but has found his opportunities limited in recent weeks.

A host of sides across Europe are keeping tabs on the situation - including United.

And Asensio is believed to favour a move to Old Trafford as he wants to try his luck in the Premier League, reports Diario Gol.

Florentino Perez is reluctant to let the 21-year-old go and will demand a hefty transfer fee, with Asensio only signing a new deal a few months ago.

Boss Zinedine Zidane is believed to be more open to the sale as he is said to believe Asensio lacks the consistency to make it at the Bernabeu.

Zidane is in Abu Dhabi preparing for the Club World Cup final against Gremio on Saturday evening.

He is believed to have met with the Real board to discuss his potential January dealings.

Athletic Bilbao stopper Kepa looks set to move to the Bernabeu but Zidane is reluctant to bring in too many new faces.

He wants to keep faith with Karim Benzema despite his poor form in front of goal and believes his side will soon rediscover their level of last season.
