Manchester United are hopeful of completing a deal for PSG defender Serge Aurier.

But they have one rather big problem - the Ivory Coast international is currently banned from entering the UK.

Jose Mourinho has agreed a £27million deal for Aurier , with PSG ready to let him go after signing Dani Alves.

United hope his conviction will be quashed and they can complete a £90,000-a-week deal.

But just what can United fans expect?

Aurier came through the ranks at Lens and spent three seasons in the senior squad before joining Toulouse.

The 24-year-old went on to join PSG in 2014, spending a campaign on loan before arriving on a permanent deal the following summer.

He became first choice under Laurent Blanc but was in and out of the side under Unai Emery last season.

Aurier has made as many headlines off the pitch as he has on it in recent years.

He is currently banned from entering the UK after being found guilty of assaulting a police officer outside a Paris nightclub in September last year.

Aurier was denied entry to the UK last October, missing a Champions League game at Arsenal.

He was also suspended by PSG last year for using homophobic language to then-boss Laurent Blanc and insulting teammate Angel Di Maria.

On international duty last September, the defender appeared to make a throat-slitting gesture to supporters as Ivory Coast beat Mali.

And it's not just recent indiscretions, either.

Back in 2015, he was given a three-match ban by UEFA for criticising referee Bjorn Kuipers' performance in a clash with Chelsea.

What will he bring?

United look set to splash out on another defender this summer but Aurier faces a battle to strip Antonio Valencia of his right-back slot.

The Ecuadorian was arguably United's best performer of last season and has improved considerably under Mourinho.

Aurier will provide some competition with United playing in the Champions League next term.

But what does his impending arrival mean for the likes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah?

Will more new faces follow? (

Jose Mourinho wanted four new faces this summer and Aurier would complete the list.

Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic have already arrived for big fees as United bid to get back in the top four.

Ivan Perisic was another target as United looked to bring in a wide man but Inter have insisted there has been no follow-up.

Will Aurier mark the end of United's business?
