Swansea are confident of re-signing Wilfried Bony from Manchester City for a cut-price £13million.

Swansea sold Bony to City for £28million in January 2015 and are close to sealing the striker’s return to the Liberty Stadium for less than half that amount.

The Swans have moved for the Ivory Coast international after finally agreeing to sell Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for £45million.

Bony, 28, bagged 34 goals in his 18 months with the Swans and they believe they can rekindle his career after his difficult time at City where he managed just 10 goals in total.

The African also endured a tough time at Stoke last season while on loan and was bombed out by boss Mark Hughes after managing just two goals, ironically against Swansea.

The Blues will be pleased to get Bony off their books, despite taking a £15million hit on his value and he is not part of Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad.

Bony has been training away from the first-team squad with fellow misfits Samir Nasri and Jason Denayer.
