Fernando Llorente is undergoing a medical at Tottenham .

Spurs appear to have won the race for the Swansea striker's signature ahead of Premier League champions Chelsea , who also remain interested.

Target man Llorente, 32, had appeared set for Chelsea and a reunion with his former Juventus boss Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

But Spurs' late move could looks set to see him head to north London in what would be another transfer setback for Conte who has also missed out on Romelu Lukaku and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.

Llorente joined Swansea last summer and bagged 15 goals in 28 league starts to help the Welsh side stay up.

And he will provide Premier League ready back-up for star man Harry Kane, something that has been a priority for boss Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

Swansea are willing to let Llorente go providing they have a replacement and have lined up former striker Wilfried Bony for a return from Manchester City.
