West Brom have signed Chelsea youngster Kyle Jameson on a one-year deal, with the option of a further year.

The 18-year-old defender will link up with Albion's Under-23 side initially for the Premier League 2 competition.

He has already played twice on trial for the Baggies' second string this month, against Newcastle and Wolves, impressing academy coaches at the Hawthorns.

The teenage centre-back told Albion's official website: "I'm delighted. I did a bit of research and this is a wonderful club.

"I've already played a couple of games and enjoyed it. Once we start working together as a team then we'll start winning matches."

Chelsea snapped up Jameson in January from National League side Southport, but he featured only as a substitute for the Blues' Under-18s.

He had a trial with Celtic in July before his chance to impress with West Brom.
