Raheem Sterling struck a deflected injury-time winner to give Manchester City victory after a hard-fought contest at Bournemouth - only to then be sent off for his celebrations.

It looked as though Pep Guardiola was going to be left frustrated for the second time in a week following the home draw against Everton before Sterling's last-gasp strike looped in off Andrew Surman to seal a 2-1 victory.

Sterling was shown a second yellow card after celebrating in among the jubilant away fans as Bournemouth were left with nothing to show for a strong showing after Gabriel Jesus had initially equalised a stunning Charlie Daniels strike.

So, after watching these two slog it out for an entertaining 100 minutes, what does each manager need to do in the final week of the transfer window?

Eddie Howe's side have got off to their traditionally slow start but this battling performance showed they will be OK in the Premier League again this season.

Asmir Begovic is a proper top-flight keeper and Jermain Defoe will score goals while Nathan Ake had a nightmare.

Howe, who also signed Under 21 winger Connor Mahoney, has declared himself happy with his business in the window though they could always use more strength in depth

This is a team which started with Sergio Aguero on the bench and still has midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Gabriel Jesus looked electric in the central striking role but could have scored more but quite where Alexis Sanchez would fit into this team only Pep Guardiola knows.

The interplay between Spaniard David Silva and £43m Portugal star Bernardo Silva was a joy to behold.

City are well-stocked with full-backs but still need more cover at centre-back and are still pursuing Jonny Evans.
