Soccer boss Jurgen Klopp is being guarded by two former Paratroopers, we can reveal.

The highly-trained soldiers, who also served with Special Forces , have been drafted in to protect Liverpool’s manager.

The pair have also acted as close protection for Steven Gerrard , the club’s former captain who is now under-18s coach at the Premier League giants.

It is believed to be the first time ex-Special Forces men have been employed by a British football club.

They are said to be trained to deal with ‘all major incidents’ - amid fears terrorists could strike at a major UK soccer fixture.

A source said: “These men are the best in the business. If you could wish for anyone to have your back it would be these guys.”

They have also shared selfies on social media posing at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium.

And they travel home and away with the team to provide an extra level of security for the team’s stars and the manager.

The move comes as all major clubs have stepped up security amid the rising terror threat as key sporting events and sports stars have become targets.

Last April the Borussia Dortmund team bus was caught up in a bomb attack as the team headed to a Champions League tie in Germany.

France’s Stade de France in Paris was one of six targets across the French capital attacked by gunmen two years ago.

Most security for players and managers is arranged by the clubs who are committed to ensuring they are as safe as possible.

But some multi-millionaire players also have their own security in place.

A source said: “These guys have a lot of money and can afford the best security money can buy.”

Players have also increased security following a spate of attacks on their homes as they travel around the world with the clubs.

This week footage emerged of two thugs attempting to break into the home of Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.

The CCTV footage shows masked men trying to smash their way into his home before fleeing the scene.

Teammate Sadio Mane’s nearby home was also broken into on the same night, as both stars were at Anfield for their teams match against Maribor.
