It doesn't take much to get Arsenal fans raging about Arsene Wenger.

Given the general air of protest, fury and dissent that has surrounded the Gunners boss in recent years, you might think the Frenchman would know by not that there are certain things supporters of the club do NOT want to hear coming out of his mouth.

Apparently not.

During his press conference ahead of the match against Bournemouth, Wenger was asked about the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool.

Given the fans' fury over Arsenal's summer transfer business (or lack of it), there weren't many responses which could keep Gooners happy.

However, seeing as the regular gripe of the Wenger Out brigade is the way the manager fixates on the club's bank balance - rather than spending big fees on big players - you can imagine how they might feel about this reply:

"At the end of the day, you make decisions - you choose one or the other one.

"We had to sell somebody, and overall, I believe that we are today in a strong financial situation, as always, and we have a good enough squad to compete."

So, in short, Wenger is (once again) suggesting their strong financial position - helped by the £40m sale of The Ox - is something the club should be proud of.

Like we said, you can imagine how that has gone down with fans desperate to see their team make some big new signings…
