Football clubs' team photos can tell you a lot. And Arsenal's can tell you more than most.

And when the perennially frustrated Gunners players took a break from their Europa League preparations to take this squad snap on Tuesday afternoon, they revealed more than a few clues about the current squad's morale.

Presumably Arsene Wenger and his men didn't take the photo until this point of the season because they might have added some new faces before the transfer window closed, but after that didn't happen then their pic ended up looking a lot like their one from 12 months ago.

Cheeeeeese! (

And we've spotted seven talking points from it.

Santi Cazorla's absence seriously cocked up the consistency of the front row

Last season's vintage (

Look at the picture at the very top of your page, and now look at the one from last season just above this. Notice any similarities?

That's right, the front row Gunners are in exactly the same order as they were before the 2016/17 campaign, except Alexandre Lacazette has joined in on the end in place of Santi Cazorla.

The little, frequently crocked Spaniard was given permission to miss the photo call by the Gunners as he had a doctor's appointment in Spain, and everyone was forced to shuffle up as a consequence, with the big money new signing coming in on the end.

It's no wonder Arsene Wenger never wants to make any signings, this is a level of consistency he can be proud of.

Seriously, how small is David Ospina?

Now obviously reserve goalkeeper Matt Macey is a giant, and Petr Cech isn't exactly a small man, but just look at David Ospina! The Colombian doesn't look like he'd reach the crossbar on a five-a-side goal here.

If he's still there next season, Arsene, maybe let him stand on a chair or something?

Alexis Sanchez looks *delighted* to be there

(

He's a professional, so obviously he's going to try and give his all for the Gunners for as long as he's there, but Alexis Sanchez never wanted this day to come.

Mentally, he's rounding Simon Mignolet and scoring Manchester City's opener against Liverpool at the weekend, he's not here.

He's anywhere but here.

Mathieu Debuchy lives!

(

We wouldn't have believed it if we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, but there he is.

Mathieu Debuchy - he of three Gunners appearances in the last three years - as we live and breathe!

The camera's over here, Mesut!

(

He's no stranger to a no look pass, but the no look team photo is a new one on us.

We're not sure if there was another camera on Mesut Ozil when this was taken, but he's definitely not looking at the one that ends up taking the picture.

Could someone assist him with this next time?

There's a camera involved, so obviously Olivier Giroud looks delighted

(

The general mood of this picture might be a little sombre - even the Community Shield looks a little depressed, for goodness sake - but there is one man who will never be anything but absolutely beaming whenever there's a camera anywhere near his face.

Olivier Giroud, right in the middle of the photo, maximum exposure, maximum sex appeal, maximum... well, just maximum everything.

What a man. *drools*

Francis Coquelin, meanwhile...

They stuck him in the same place as last year - we don't mean on the bench - and he is not a happy man.

Somebody's ankles are about to get a serious kicking in training.
