It's over. It's finally over.

Jack Rodwell might have gone off injured in the second half of Sunderland's remarkable 4-0 win over Crystal Palace , but his mere presence on the pitch from the start has meant that he's got a particularly angry monkey off his back.

Because he's only gone and won a Premier League match that he started for the first time since May 2013, back when he was a Manchester City player.

Rodwell's wretched run lasted 37 games, but finally came to an end in the 38th when David Moyes' side scored four goals in the first half through Lamine Kone, Didier Ndong and two for Jermain Defoe.
