As usual, it was an eventful weekend for Liverpool.

The Reds managed to win 3-2 at Leicester in a typically topsy-turvy game, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson securing victory, although they needed a Simon Mignolet penalty save to back them up.

But it is European action that Jurgen Klopp's troops return to on Tuesday.

Liverpool make the long haul trip to Moscow to face the Russian champions Spartak , and they'll be under pressure to get a good result after only drawing their opening Group E game at home to Sevilla.

But spirits seemed high in their final Melwood training sesssion ahead of the game.

Here's what was going down.

He's been alright this season, but Alberto Moreno (seen here on the extreme left) was once again showing his usual understanding of positioning

They're over there, mate (

He's not been seen for a while, and so the sight of Danny Ings' new hair still makes his teammates laugh, most notably Daniel Sturridge

Well he had to do something when he was out injured (

Emre Can's hair, meanwhile, was as immaculate as always

Yeah, I really wouldn't stand next to him, Danny (

With his defence again being criticised despite beating Leicester at the weekend, Jurgen Klopp lined them up for his usual method of back four selection

"Right, which of you hasn't cocked up in a while?" (

And then he made his choice

"Here you go Loris, meet your new defence" (

As usual, James Milner's efforts in training were putting everyone else to shame

"Come on lads, hurry up" (

Even if he did have a moment to reflect on the fact that he's not getting much game-time this season

"I really shouldn't have moaned about the left-back thing" (

Fresh from another up-and-down weekend, Simon Mignolet was left to ponder the likelihood that he's probably going to be replaced by Loris Karius for the Champions League again

"Wait, so I've got to go all the way to Moscow to not do anything? What is this? Coming for a corner?" (

Sadio Mane is back after being suspended at the weekend, and clearly he's learned from what happened at Manchester City

"Must. Not. Lift. Foot. Higher. Than. This" (

And crucially, Philippe Coutinho was all smiles after his brilliant weekend display

"Messi wouldn't have let me take free-kicks. So this is fine. Fine." (

But will the Reds rule in Moscow?
