Talk about value for money.

On Tuesday we revealed the 109 Premier League players (108 now, cheers Gareth Barry) who, as it stands, will be available on a free transfer next summer following the expiration of their contracts.

There were some huge names on the list, and so we decided to pick a best XI from it, all in the knowledge that it would cost us absolutely nothing to assemble next year (we don't like putting our hands in our pockets, see).

So close, Gareth (

Competition for places ended up being so strong that we've ended up naming seven substitutes, too. And we're pretty confident that this matchday squad of 18 could mount a challenge for the title.

See what you think.

Goalkeeper: Michel Vorm (Tottenham)

The Dutchman might only be Spurs' No. 2 goalkeeper, but he's proved his Premier League credentials with Swansea before.

Right-back: Glen Johnson (Stoke)

Clive Brunskill)

The former Chelsea and Liverpool man might be a little long in the tooth now, but he can still do a job in this team.

Centre-back: Robert Huth (Leicester)

The big German brings some league title winning experience to our back four.

Centre-back: Daley Blind (Manchester United)

The classy Dutchman slots in at centre-back having still not signed a new deal at Manchester United.

Left-back: Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

He might have had his problems under Jose Mourinho at United, but the Englishman is still an excellent left-back on his day.

Midfield: Emre Can (Liverpool)

There's been no progress on the German midfielder's deal at Liverpool, and his boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that the situation "isn't perfect" at the moment.

Midfield: Ander Herrera (Manchester United)

The combative Spanish midfielder is a favourite with the Manchester United fans, who are all desperate for him to renew his deal at Old Trafford.

If he doesn't, our freebie XI will have him.

Midfield: Ross Barkley (Everton)

The Everton midfielder's contract standoff goes on with little sign of any progress being made, with Tottenham considered his most likely move.

Wide left: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

The gifted German would be quite the free transfer signing for someone if he did depart the Gunners next summer.

Wide right: Juan Mata (Manchester United)

There would be tears at Old Trafford if The Nicest Man in Football™ did depart on a free next year, but we'd welcome him with a nice big hug.

Forward: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

The Chilean takes his place upfront as the most gifted member of our XI, with no signs of his Arsenal future being resolved just yet.

Not bad, huh?

And on our bench, we've got:

Willy Caballero (Chelsea)

Ryan Shawcross (Stoke)

Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United)

Loic Remy (Chelsea)

Fernando Llorente (Swansea)

Glory awaits.

So move over big spenders, we're coming for you!
