It's the return of the prodigal son. Or rather... the return of the prodigal son who has already returned to his boyhood club once already this year. Prodigally.

Two months after he left Manchester United for Everton, Wayne Rooney is back at Old Trafford on Sunday in the blue shirt of the visitors, and he's sure to be in for an eventful afternoon.

United fans have been discussing just what sort of reception the club's top goalscorer will get, and it is sure to be a largely positive one.

But that is just one of the things were expect to see happen both before and during the game.

Another nine are here.

1. Despite him clearly not being the player he once was, the sense of occasion will lead to the forward having a terrific game

He's still got it! (well, some of it) (

2. In fact - and this might say more about Everton than it does about him - his sense of determination will lead to him recording the fastest speed set by a Blues player all afternoon

3. The television cameras will pick out a fan with a particularly cringeworthy Rooney banner

Alright, maybe not *that* cringeworthy, but still (

4. Rooney's name will be cheered by the United supporters when it is read out before the game

5. Before those same supporters proceed to completely ignore him for most of the afternoon, much like they did for his last three years at the club

Ah, memories (

6. Rooney will score, and the resulting inner conflict between wanting to celebrate a goal for your boyhood club and not wanting to celebrate a goal against a former club you represented for 13 years will be one of the great mental struggles of our time

7. Everyone will forget that Morgan Schneiderlin and Michael Keane are playing against their former club too

8. Romelu Lukaku will score, because he always seems to score at the moment

Business as usual (

9. Rooney will be substituted before the end of the game, and Jose Mourinho will make a big show of shaking the forward's hand as he comes off

"That's it, it's ALL about me. Don't you forget it" (

10. And finally, Ronald Koeman will be delighted that all of this focus on Rooney will mean that no-one notices just how badly Everton are playing right now

"Cheers Wayne" (

It certainly promises to be eventful!
