Arsenal fans are a pretty happy bunch at the moment.

The north London club have shattered their transfer record fee to bring Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates on a five-year deal.

The £52million signing is set to offer the Gunners much fire power in attack next year, as they look to dominate the Premier League in the coming season.

But the France international will not join the club in the same state of years gone by, something Arsenal supporters are acutely aware of.

For the first time in Arsene Wenger's reign they failed to finish in the top four last year meaning they will not be in the Champions League next season.

It's a frustrating and altogether upsetting state of affairs for Gunners fans who are currently doing their best not to think about it.

The Lacazette signing has indeed done a great job of pushing the issue to the back of their minds, but that doesn't mean to say their happiness couldn't be spoiled.

Now, we wouldn't say the Europa League's official Twitter account did anything to upset Gunners supporters, but it seems they inadvertently upset a few of them.

Taking the opportunity to apparently congratulate the north London side - or rather, promote its competition - the account posted the following message.

"Arsenal have completed the signing of French striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon on a five-year deal."

Nothing upsetting there, right? Well no, apart from the fact it drums home that Arsenal WILL be playing in Europe's secondary competition next season.
