Free-flowing Spurs have won their last five league away games either side of the summer break - scoring 21 goals - equalling a club record for successive Premier League away wins. Another one at the John Smith's Stadium will break it.

New boys Huddersfield have a job on their hands to contain the north Londoners. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has overseen 19 league games against newly promoted sides (W18, D1), winning seven more points against them than anyone else in this period.

However, Only Man Utd (5) have kept more league clean sheets than Huddersfield (4) this season and only Man City (2) and Man Utd (2) have conceded fewer Premier League goals than Huddersfield (3), who have taken nine points from their first six games.

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner will select from an unchanged squad.

Wagner has no new injury concerns following last week's goalless draw at Burnley, but club-record signing Steve Mounie (foot) is still out having missed the last three games.

    Match stats

    • This is the first top-flight meeting between Huddersfield and Spurs since March 1972, when the sides shared a 1-1 draw at Leeds Road.
    • In fact, it will be the first competitive meeting between the sides in 45 years - they met in the League Cup in September 1972 at White Hart Lane, with Spurs winning 2-1 with goals from Alan Gilzean and Martin Chivers.
    • Tottenham have won each of their opening three league away games this season. The last time that they won their opening four on the road in a league campaign was in 1960-61 (winning their first eight away games).
    • Harry Kane has scored 25 Premier League goals in 2017 so far - this is the highest goal tally by a player in the Premier League during a single calendar year before October 1st.

    Merson's prediction

Huddersfield have been tight at the back so far, keeping four clean sheets from their six league games so far, but sooner or later they are going to have to come out and score goals. I watched them against Burnley last week and I thought they were very comfortable but at some point they are going to have to do a bit more because I personally don't think another 30 0-0 draws will get you out of trouble.

For Wagner and his side it's a different kettle of fish what they are playing this weekend. They do work hard and their work rate will shock Spurs, but in the end the visitors' quality will tell. Kane is absolutely flying at the moment and Huddersfield won't have come up against anyone like that yet. I don't see how they will be able to contain him.

PAUL PREDICTS: 0-3 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

    Betting

Tottenham are Sky Bet's 2/5 favourites with Huddersfield up against odds of 7/1, while the draw is priced at 18/5. Mauricio Pochettino's men arrive as 16/1 shots for the title, while the Terriers are 7/4 third favourites to face the drop.

Kane is the 2/1 favourite to score first and 15/2 for another hat-trick, shorter odds than Steve Mounie (9/1) is just to break the deadlock.
