Henrikh Mkhitaryan will only miss "about a week" after being injured in Manchester United's win over Tottenham, Jose Mourinho has confirmed.
The winger was taken off on a stretcher with five minutes to go of his side's 1-0 win over Spurs at Old Trafford on Sunday.
He had earlier scored the goal which gave his side a victory that takes them to within three points of fifth-placed Tottenham.
"We don't think it is a serious injury," Mourinho told Sky Sports News HQ. "He can't play but he will only be missing for about a week or so.
"We were worried (when he went down injured) but it doesn't look like it will be a bad one."
It was initially feared that Mkhitaryan had broken his ankle but the player only has severe bruising and left the pitch on a stretcher as a precautionary measure.
The injury will cause him to miss the next two Premier League games but Manchester United are optimistic he will be available for the game against Sunderland on Boxing Day.
United paid Borussia Dortmund £26.3m for Mkhitaryan in the summer and he struggled to make an immediate impact at the club.
However he has become a vital player in recent weeks, with his goal against Spurs being his second in a run of four games during which he has also contributed three assists.
