Gareth Barry is at West Brom's training ground undergoing a medical as the 36-year-old midfielder looks to complete a move from Everton, according to Sky Sources.

Barry did not feature in Everton's Premier League opening-day victory over Stoke because of an ankle injury, but this is not thought to be serious and should not prevent the former England international from passing Albion's medical.

Sky sources have been told Barry is keen on the move, which could be completed in the next 24 hours, as he has dropped down Ronald Koeman's pecking order after a busy summer of signings at Goodison Park and wants to play regular first-team football.

Barry, who signed for Everton three years ago following a successful loan spell with the club, has been told he can leave the Toffees this summer.

He has made 628 Premier League appearances and scored 52 goals - two of which came in league appearances for Everton - and needs to play just five more matches to overtake former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs as the competition's all-time record appearance holder.

Barry spent 11 years at Aston Villa, netting 41 goals from 365 league appearances before moving to Manchester City in 2009.
