Euro Paper Talk: Barcelona still want Philippe Coutinho and Angel Di Maria

The summer transfer window has just two days remaining and clubs across Europe are making moves as they look to piece together the squad they need for a successful season.

Spain

Barcelona are scrambling to get deals for Philippe Coutinho and Angel Di Maria in place before the transfer window shuts. The Catalans remain confident, despite Liverpool rebuffing any approach for their Brazilian playmaker. Furthermore, agent Jorge Mendes has stepped in to act on their behalf while negotiating a deal for Di Maria, with relations between Barc and PSG strained. (Marca)

Back in 2008, Neymar and Coutinho revealed they both wanted to play for Real Madrid. In an interview with David Ruiz, the pair revealed that Los Blancos were their favourite team, with Coutinho going as far to say they were 'the best team in the world'. (Marca)

Zinedine Zidane wants to switch to a 4-4-2 formation on a more regular basis and sees Cristiano Ronaldo as a No. 9 moving forward. The Frenchman has tinkered with a number of systems but looks to have finally settled on one. He feels the two-man strike force gives Ronaldo more freedom. (Marca)

Celta Vigo have smashed their transfer record to bring Emre Mor to the club. The Turkey international only joined Borussia Dortmund last season but failed to impress. He was linked with a move to Fiorentina but has now joined the La Liga side on a five-year deal. (AS)

France

Monaco have still yet to reject the third bid Liverpool tabled for Thomas Lemar. The Reds has two earlier attempts rejected before returning with an offer made up of €80m and Divock Origi on loan for the season. (L'Equipe)

Monaco have signed Keita Balde from Lazio as they look to piece together a new-look attack, amid reports both Lemar and Kylian Mbappe could be on the move over the coming days. The Ligue 1 champions have also signed Stevan Jovetic. (L'Equipe)

Celta Vigo midfielder Pape Diop has signed a five-year contract with Lyon, the Ligue 1 side announced on Tuesday. The 19-year-old moves to France in a deal reported to be worth €10m, with a further €4m in add-ons. (L'Equipe)

Marseille had hoped to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele to bolster their attacking options but have been priced out of a move. The injured forward was open to a move to France but the Scottish champions reportedly demanded €40m for their prized asset. (Le10Sport)

Grzegorz Krychowiak's proposed move to West Brom is being held up due to the player's salary. He was all set to join the Premier League club on loan but the Baggies can't afford his wages and Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to subsidise the move. Germany

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Hoffenheim full-back Jeremy Toljan. The 23-year-old was a transfer target for Spurs earlier on in the summer but a move never materialised. He has now joined Bundesliga rivals Dortmund for a fee in the region of €5m. (SportBild)

Lucas Alario will become Bayer Leverkusen's record signing when his €24m move is finalised. The River Plate striker arrives in Germany to take the place of Javier Hernandez, who joined West Ham earlier on in the summer. Alario is expected to pen a deal until 2022. (Kicker)

Bayer Leverkusen defender Aleksandar Dragovic is close to securing a season-long loan to Olympiakos. The 26-year-old Austrian did not have the best season with Bayer last season and the club wanted to loan him to a club playing Champions League football. (Kicker)

Italy

Roma have pipped Juventus to the signature of Patrik Schick. The former Sampdoria striker was one of the hottest properties in Serie A and had looked set to join the champions after undergoing a medical. However, Roma swooped signed him from under the noses of their rivals. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Napoli are making moves in the final days of the transfer window. Barcelona's Denis Suarez is a target but the club are eager to bring Domenico Berardi, a one-time target for Roma to the club as they strengthen ahead of a Champions League campaign. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Inter Milan want to bring Shkodran Mustafi to the San Siro. Arsenal are happy to do business but they do not want to loan the German out for a season. But Inter are reluctant to sanction a €40m deal for the centre-back this summer. (Calciomercato)
