The Premier League is back with a bang.
Arsenal and Leicester kicked things off with Friday's thriller at the Emirates Stadium, and there was plenty more excitement in Saturday's games.
The highlights came at Vicarage Road, where Liverpool and Watford played out a thrilling 3-3 draw, and at Stamford Bridge, where nine-man Chelsea were beaten 3-2 by Burnley. Read on for our top five stats of the day.
Watford stunned Liverpool but perhaps the draw shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise. In fact, the Hornets have not lost an opening day league game since 2006, when they were beaten 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park.
Are Chelsea destined for another dismal Premier League title defence? Antonio Conte's side became the first team in Premier League history to have two players sent off in their opening game as they were beaten 3-2 by Burnley.
Wayne Rooney announced his return to Goodison Park in style, scoring the only goal in Everton's 1-0 win over Stoke. It brought his combined total of Premier League goals and assists to 300 (199 goals, 101 assists). Only Alan Shearer has more (324).
West Brom kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the Hawthorns thanks to a goal from debutant Ahmed Hegazy. They held on for the win despite having just 29 per cent possession.
Southampton and Swansea played out a goalless draw at St Mary's Stadium but it would have been a different story if only the hosts could finish their chances. Mauricio Pellegrino's men had 29 shots in total - but only two on target.
