Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have had their say on the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga: should he sign for Manchester City or Manchester United?
After Arsenal's defeat at Bournemouth, Arsene Wenger said Sanchez could leave Arsenal in the "next 48 hours".
Sanchez did not travel with Arsenal for their game at Bournemouth, with Manchester United confident of beating rivals Manchester City to sign him, according to Sky sources.
The Chilean, who trained on Saturday, has six months remaining on his contract and Wenger appears resigned to losing him before the window closes on January 31.
The transfer saga has got plenty of people debating. Here's what the Monday Night Football duo had to say…
"Two weeks ago if you'd told me Sanchez could end up at United, I'd say 'how would this happen?' - but we must remember United are a serious football club that wins trophies even in the last four years. They've matched City in that period for trophies even though City have been on the up and United on the down.
"Sanchez could be looking at it thinking: 'United are a big club, they will come back'. If Pep Guardiola leaves Manchester City then which club would you chose? I'd pick Manchester United, personally.
"It's a massive attraction to go and play there. Everyone talks about going to play for Pep, they don't mention him playing for Manchester City. He's not a permanent fixture - he won't be there for five years. Manchester United are still a huge attraction and if they're offering lots of money then they have a chance."
"It'd be a massive surprise [if he ended up at Manchester United].
"It'd be a brilliant signing for United if it comes off but the fact he's worked with Pep Guardiola before, the fact there's a bit of distance between the two clubs, the way Pep Guardiola plays attacking football.
"I'm not questioning Jose Mourinho but his way of playing at times, certainly in the big games, is to have Martial or Rashford helping and working back. The only reason I could see him going to United would be financial but, hey, that's part of the game."
