Gareth Bale is once again linked with Manchester United as we round up the latest rumours on Friday, August 4.
According to the back page of the Daily Star, the Wales international is surplus to requirements at Real Madrid this season if they sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.
And that apparently means Manchester United could be poised to make a £90m bid for the former Tottenham player and Jose Mourinho has been put on alert.
A deal for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has not materialised yet this summer - and that has left Mourinho frustrated, according to a report in the Independent.
They are reporting that the United boss wants at least three more players - including two full-backs and another midfielder - and he has not given up on a deal for Perisic.
However, he wanted all of their transfer business completed before their tour of the USA and is apparently annoyed by a lack of urgency in the transfer window.
Meanwhile, Juan Mata has emerged as a target for Roma, according to reports in the Italian media.
Calcio Mercato claims the Italian club are still pursuing Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez as their top transfer target - but could turn to the Manchester United playmaker if they can't seal that deal.
Another potential outgoing is teenager Timothy Fosu-Mensah, according to The Sun.
They are reporting that Frank de Boer wants to team up with him again at Crystal Palace - and are keen to complete a loan deal for the defender.
Watford also want to sign Fosu-Mensah, but De Boer worked with him at Ajax and is hoping that relationship will help him to tempt the player.
Finally, AC Milan chief Marco Fassone has admitted the club are refusing to rule out a deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Manchester United are interested in re-signing the striker in January when he recovers from a serious knee injury - but the Swedish star is on the shopping list for the Italian club.
