Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reveals he has no control over Paul Pogba's return from a hamstring injury.

Jose Mourinho has admitted he has no control over Paul Pogba's return from a hamstring injury.

The Manchester United manager has been unable to call upon Pogba since the midfielder picked up the problem during the Champions League victory over Basel in September.

Pogba posted an Instagram video on Thursday stepping up his rehabilitation in Miami but Mourinho has no timescale over the former Juventus player's comeback but was more confident on Eric Bailly's return which could see the defender return for next Saturday's meeting against Tottenham, live on Sky Sports Premier League.

"I have no idea," said Mourinho about Pogba's recovery. "If you ask me 'do you think he can play in the next match in the Premier League against Tottenham', I don't know.

"I am not telling you no and then he plays. You will say I lied to you but I really don't know. I expect Eric Bailly to be back next week but I cannot tell you about (Marouane) Fellaini or Pogba because I have no idea."

When questioned about his involvement in the rehabilitation process of the influential midfielder, the Portuguese manager revealed that United's club doctor Steve McNally was the only person in a position to know when the French international would return.

Mourinho added: "You have to ask Dr McNally - he is responsible for that. I am in control of the players that are available, not the players that are not available."
