Despite the transfer window now being shut across Europe, there is still talk of potential moves in January or even next summer. Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the continental media for the latest news and transfer rumours.
Atletico Madrid have made an offer for Chelsea's Diego Costa, thought to be worth £57.25m. The Spanish club will not negotiate the fee and have told Chelsea that this is a take it or leave it offer. The Spain international striker is still on the books at Antonio Conte's side but hasn't featured this season and is waiting for a move to his old club. (Marca)
Eden Hazard has said that he will never sign for Paris Saint-Germain, and if he does return to France it will only be to rejoin Lille, the club where he spent time as a youth and senior player before joining Chelsea. (SFR Sport)
Hazard's interview also alerted Real Madrid, as the player said: "For now I'm at Chelsea and still have a few years to go, but I do not know where I will finish up." (SFR Sport)
Emil Forsberg's hometown youth team, GIF Sundsvall, are relying on their star product to be transferred from RB Leipzig sooner rather than later if they are to remain in existence. The Swedish club have hit financial difficulties, but have taken out a loan secured on the hope that Forsberg will move from his current Bundesliga side. They stand to take 2.2 per cent of any fee, which will keep the club afloat and allow the repayment of loans. (Bild)
Ilkay Gundogan believes one of the reasons behind Pep Guardiola leaving Bayern was that he couldn't sign the players he wanted to improve his side. The Spanish manager wanted to sign Gundogan to partner Thiago Alcantara in midfield, and was also interested in Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane before Manchester City snapped them up. (Die Zeit)
AC Milan are looking to bolster their midfield ranks and are targeting two Bundesliga players - Schalke's Leon Goretzka, who is out of contract next summer, and Kerem Demirbay of Hoffenheim. New investment at the club has meant they now have the funds to spend in the transfer market, and will approach these players despite facing stiff competition for Goretzka once his contract expires, and having to pay a considerable fee for Demirbay. Juventus are looking for long-term replacements for Gianluigi Buffon, and have identified Jan Oblak as their top target. Despite signing former Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczesny this summer, they are still on the lookout for another big name in the goalkeeping department, and Atletico Madrid's Oblak fits the bill. Meanwhile, Juventus have given up on signing Atletico Madrid centre-back José Maria Gimenez as they look to use Daniele Rugani, Medhi Benatia, Benedikt Howedes, who they hope will learn from the experienced Giorgio Chiellini and improve as a result. (Calciomercato)
