Wolfsburg are hoping to take Liverpool striker Divock Origi on a season-long loan, according to Sky sources.

Origi has struggled to secure a regular first-team place at Anfield since joining from Lille in a £10m deal in 2014.

The Belgium international faces increased competition for places this season following the arrival of Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah from Chelsea and Roma respectively.

The 22-year-old did not even make the squad for Sunday's win over Arsenal having fallen down the pecking order behind Solanke.
