Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has committed himself to the north London club until 2021.

The 22-year-old joined from Southampton in the summer of 2014 but spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough after failing to secure a regular first-team place at the Emirates.

Chambers revealed his "pride" in committing to Arsenal on social media, where he told supporters his best is yet to come.

"I know I'm still a young player and I want to have my best years playing for this football club," said Chambers. "I want to win as many trophies with Arsenal as possible.

"I'm going to repay the fans for the faith they have shown in me."

A statement on the club's official website read: "Everyone at Arsenal is looking forward to Calum's continued contribution to the club."

He has made 60 appearances with the Gunners since arriving from the Saints and in his first season was rewarded with a first senior England cap in a friendly against Norway in September 2014.

Chambers made his senior England debut before representing England's U21s and helped them win the Toulon Tournament at the end of the 2015/16 season.
