Eddie Nketiah wrote his name into Arsenal history on Tuesday with his Carabao Cup goals - but he's not the first Gunners youngster to produce a breakthrough display in the competition.

Arsene Wenger has traditionally used the League Cup to blood youngsters, and Nketiah was the latest to have an instant impact when he was introduced in the 85th minute against Norwich.

The Championship side were 1-0 up at the time but Nketiah equalised 15 seconds after his substitution and added the winner in extra time. After the game, the 18-year-old said: "Hopefully it's just the start and you will see many more goals and better performances from me."

But a star turn in the League Cup does not always lead to a regular first-team spot with mixed fortunes for some players who have come before.
