Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says he is enjoying his football at the moment but there is no progress on a possible new deal.

Jack Wilshere told Sky Sports News there has been “no progress” with contract talks at Arsenal.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who scored his first Premier League goal of the season in Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea, is out of contract at the end of the season and now free to speak to other clubs.

Wilshere has started the last six games for the Gunners and is targeting a long run in the starting line-up as he bids for a place in England's World Cup squad.

Asked about contract talks, Wilshere replied: "No progress there. I want to be going to Russia but now is not the time to be thinking about that.

"We've got to take each game as it comes, keep playing in this time, keep improving and we'll see what comes in March for the next international games."

Arsenal now turn their attention to the cup competitions - they face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Saturday before another meeting with Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, live on Sky Sports Football - and Wilshere hopes to feature in both games and add to his goals tally.

"I'm not satisfied with one goal a season," he said. "I should be scoring more than that, I get the opportunities.
